These photos are from a few months ago when I visited Salvation Mountain, a giant handmade sculpture that’s in the middle of nowhere in the California desert. I first learned of Salvation Mountain when it was shown in the film Into the Wild, and visiting there had been on my bucket since. It’s incredible and hard to believe that it was all created by hand by one person, Leonard Knight. I was hoping to get the chance to meet him, but sadly he passed away in 2014.
If you appreciate art and design, I highly recommend a trip to Salvation Mountain. To say you’ll leave inspired is an understatement.
